Thanks Ivo, for your very thought-provoking post. As someone who spends a lot of time on the computer, and who is also committed to following the Buddha's path, these are some questions I have been asking myself as well. Fortunately, I have always felt the importance of a connection with the body. To take good care of this precious body, through exercise, and healthy diet, and enough sleep. And also to listen to what it has to say. The aches, the constrictions, the happy sensations . . . The computer can become an addiction, and I am very aware of the of it with my propensity to Twitter sometimes a little too much . . . I believe a healthy balance needs to be cultivated starting in school. Healthy mind, healthy body, healthy spirit. Using the Web as a tool at the service of bettering the world and enlarging one's scope of knowledge and connections. Not as a substitute for physical connection to one self and others.
